Every dry season there are many fires throughout the Australian land. Some fires are started by nature but many are started by people to manage the land. Aboriginal people have been managing the land, plants and animals through cultural fire practice for over 60,000 years.

These paintings show the various stages of the fires. This painting shows the tracks made in the ash by the wind and animals as the plants begin to regrow and while the wood continues to burn days after the fire was started.
