Every dry season there are many fires throughout the Australian land. Some fires are started by nature but many are started by people to manage the land. Aboriginal people have been managing the land, plants and animals through cultural fire practice for over 60,000 years.

These paintings show the various stages of the fires with the rich reds and oranges showing the fire burning through the land. The black and greys show the ash beginning to accumulate. The linear patterns represent the interesting patterns that form naturally after the fires from the elements and animals.
